Abandoned Ireland - New Free Motion Cottage Landscapes

This new series of work is inspired by the derelict, abandoned and neglected cottages that can be found throughout Ireland.

They stand as silent witness to a bygone era with their crumbling walls and overgrown gardens. Moss covered thatch or slate roofs, once symbols of shelter and warmth, now crumble and leak. Nature reclaims the gardens, once meticulously tended, with brambles, wildflowers and grasses growing wild. Windows once filled with the warm glow of firelight, are now dark and empty, offering glimpses into a forgotten interior. The cottages stand as silent reminders of lives once lived. They are places where the past is not entirely gone, but lingers in the wind, the stones, and the overgrown gardens. They invite the viewer to listen to the whispers of the past and to connect with the stories they still hold within their walls.
